Moving Ahead Direct Assistance Fund
The Moving Ahead Direct Assistance Fund provides grants of up to
$1,000 directly to domestic violence survivors for expenses related
to education and employment. These funds can be used for expenses
such as: tuition and fees for educational classes at the high
school, community college and undergraduate levels; certifications;
books and supplies; child care; transportation; other support
services; and employment uniforms and supplies. In the last
three years, this fund has provided over $1,000,000 to help
survivors achieve their educational and employment goals to build
their earning capacity and financial independence.
Who can apply: Applications must be submitted
on behalf of individual survivors by 501(c) 3 nonprofit
organizations whose core mission is to serve or represent victims
of domestic violence.

Applications for the Moving Ahead Direct Assistance Fund must be
submitted by 501(c) 3 nonprofit organizations whose core mission is
to serve or represent victims of domestic violence. Applying
organizations must provide a copy of recent audited financial
statements, which may be uploaded with the online grant application
or submitted in advance to the Economic Justice team at ejtf@nnedv.org or via fax at
202.543.5626. Any application that is received without the audited
financial statement will be considered incomplete and will not be
processed.

grant are distributed on a first come, first serve basis, typically
within the first hour of the cycle opening. Please apply as soon as
you can after the cycle opens.
