Moving Ahead Through Financial Management Curriculum Grant
Program
The Allstate Foundation's Moving Ahead Through Financial
Management curriculum empowers survivors to regain control of
their finances and to get free and stay free from violence. The
curriculum includes financial tools and information that help
enable survivors of domestic abuse to fully understand their
financial circumstances and to engage in short-term and long-term
planning to accomplish their personal goals.
Who can apply: State domestic violence
coalitions

The national Curriculum Grant Program allows Allstate Foundation
and the National Network to End Domestic Violence (NNEDV) to get
the curriculum in the hands of as many survivors as possible by
working with state domestic violence coalitions to provide training
and technical assistance to the local programs that work directly
with survivors. Through this grant program, state domestic violence
coalitions will receive funding to conduct economic empowerment and
curriculum trainings with the local programs in their states.
In the two years since the grant program began, over 1,200
advocates in 500 community-based programs in 33 states have been
trained to use the Moving Ahead curriculum with survivors during
the first year of the grant program. Additionally, over 25,000
survivors will use the Moving Ahead curriculum in those
states during the two year program.
