Tell a Gal P.A.L. - The Stories

Heather , Green Bay WI

I am a Domestic Abuse survivor as are all of the members of my family. I am a mother to two little boys; John Paul (8) and Aidan (18mos), and the wife-to-be of one of the most inspiring men on this Earth! Our youngest sons' bio father was my abuser; he used my pregnancy and financial dependence on him as an excuse to violently and maliciously control me.

I attempted to report the abuse about four months after the worst of it had taken place; only to be told by local police that I could not even report the acts of violence against me, much less expect an actual response from those who were in positions of authority and therefore could have helped to change how this turned out.

Despite multiple attempts on my life and the life of our youngest son, my abuser is free as I type this. He beat Probation Revocation (the only thing his agent had to say in response to the Administrative Law Judges' decision was "It must be a guy thing".) and also skated through with no criminal charges being filed against him.

I do have a restraining order; however few Officers actually want to enforce this injunction against him. Regardless of his threats and attempts to harm our children and compromise their safety and security; the Department of Child Protection will not be troubled with this. All I was asking for was a restraining order on behalf of my children.
