Tell a Gal P.A.L. - The Stories

Suzanne, Orchard Park NY

I was subject to (severe) domestic violence for 22 years. I was strong enough to leave three times, and weak enough to return and then marry him. Finally, my husband was removed from the house in Nov 2007. Our 3 kids and I have since moved, I paid his $9k in taxes just to sell and leave the old house. Once I figured out who the heck I was, who these kids are, and how to move on, did I start to set sail. Soon after we moved last year, I lost my job. At that point I fended for myself and started my own telecommunication business, On A Dime Installations. This summer, I finally decided to stop protecting the maggots that think its ok to impose on another, and started speaking out. I joined facebook groups, and as a result, I have so far helped 3 people to stay strong and not return to their abusers and am on a mission to find more. Mine is a story of punching bag turned business owner. And, I am launching a second venture in the name of all people impacted by family abuse and domestic violence. It is a music venue, recording studio and coffee house. And mine is now a life-long mission. You can google my name and the word 'violence' and see my work.
